Finding fulfillment and satisfaction
Read about a series of blessings that Jesus pronounces on his followers in the Sermon on the Mount.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Matthew 5:6
Matthew 5:6 is a verse from the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus teaches his disciples about the Kingdom of Heaven. The verse is part of the Beatitudes*, which are a series of blessings that Jesus pronounces on his followers.
In this verse, Jesus is saying that those who are truly hungry and thirsty for righteousness, meaning those who desire to live righteously and follow God's ways, will be satisfied and filled.
True fulfillment comes from aligning our lives with God's will and seeking to live in a way that honors Him. We should not be satisfied with anything less.

*The Beatitudes are a series of blessings that Jesus pronounces on his followers in the Sermon on the Mount, as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible. The word "beatitude" comes from the Latin word "beatus," which means "blessed" or "happy."
In the Beatitudes, Jesus describes the characteristics of those who are blessed by God and will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. Each beatitude begins with the phrase "Blessed are..." and then describes a particular quality or state of being.
Matthew 5:1-12
5Â When he saw the crowds, he went up on the mountain, and after he sat down, his disciples came to him. 2Â Then he began to teach them, saying:
The Beatitudes:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
4Â Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5Â Blessed are the humble,
for they will inherit the earth.
6Â Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7Â Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8Â Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9Â Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
10Â Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.
11 “You are blessed when they insult you and persecute you and falsely say every kind of evil against you because of me. 12 Be glad and rejoice, because your reward is great in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Amen
