And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
1 John 4:21
1 John 4:21 teaches that if we truly love God, we will also love our fellow believers. It is a command from God, not optional. We are to love our neighbors in God, and God in our neighbors; this is what remaining in his love means.
Those who love God cannot refuse love to the image of God that meets them in their fellow believers. Loving others is a natural extension of our love for God, and it's a way to demonstrate our faith in action.

Lifting Up Fellow Believers
Dear God, we come before you today to lift up our fellow believers in prayer. We ask that you would strengthen them, encourage them, and fill them with your peace. Help them to grow in their faith and to be bold in their witness for you.
We pray for those who are struggling with their faith, that you would give them the strength to persevere and to hold fast to their hope in you. We pray for those who are facing difficult circumstances, that you would provide for their needs and give them your comfort and grace.
We pray for those who are serving you in ministry, that you would give them wisdom, discernment, and the power of your Spirit to accomplish your will. We pray for those who are sharing the gospel, that you would open the hearts of those who hear, and that many would come to know you as their Savior and Lord.
We pray for unity among believers, that we would love one another, serve one another, and encourage one another in our faith. We pray that your love would be evident in our lives and that we would be a light to the world, drawing others to you.
We pray all these things in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
