Dear Lord,
We come before you with humble hearts, seeking your guidance and wisdom. We pray that you help us to recognize the dangers of pride in our lives, and seek your protection from the onslaught of those who will seek to embrace and flaunt pridefulness this month. We acknowledge that pride can blind us to our own faults and lead us away from your path of righteousness.
Help us, Lord, to remember the words of your servant, the Apostle Paul, who said, "Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves." (Philippians 2:3). May we always strive to serve you and our fellow brothers and sisters with humility and love.
Protect us from the temptation to boast in our own accomplishments, for we know that all good things come from you. Help us to remember that without you, we are nothing, and that our true worth lies in our identity as your beloved children.
We ask for your grace and mercy when we stumble and fall into pride. May your Holy Spirit convict us of our sin and lead us back to repentance and restoration. We pray that you would keep our hearts soft and teachable, always open to your guidance and correction.
May we never forget the words of your Son, Jesus Christ, who said, "God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth." (Matthew 5:5). Help us to embrace humility and meekness, knowing that in doing so, we honor you and become more like your Son.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
