Having a sincere, deep love for fellow believers is encouraged
The Word of God is a transformative power in our lives.
You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart.
1 Peter 1:22
1 Peter 1:22 is a passage from the New Testament that discusses the importance of love and purity among believers. The verse emphasizes the importance of having a sincere and deep love for fellow believers.
Peter encourages his readers to love one another, which is not surprising as the Lord commanded His disciples to love each other as He had loved them. If we want to live a life of which the Lord approves, we must love fellow believers.
For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.
1 Peter 1:23
1 Peter 1:23 highlights the transformative power of the Word of God, which brings about the new birth for believers and is described as imperishable, living, and enduring.
Combined, these verses encourage believers to love one another deeply and sincerely, and to recognize the transformative power of the Word of God in their lives.
When I established Daily Beacon as an online ministry, I did so out of love for fellow believers, and the hope that the Daily Beacon’s messages would one day be seen by those who desperately need Jesus in their lives. It is not too late to learn about and love our God.

Prayer of the Day
Today’s prayer is a direct response to the tragic news out of Papua New Guinea, where at least 2,000 people are feared to have been buried alive in a landslide. Rescue crews are reportedly struggling to reach the remote mountainous Enga region in northern Papua New Guinea.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the midst of this tragedy, seeking Your comfort and strength. We lift up the victims, their families, and all those affected by this devastating event. Lord, we ask that You would be their refuge and strength, a very present help in their time of need.
We pray for Your healing touch upon the wounded, both physically and emotionally. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we also pray for the souls of those who have lost their lives. May they rest in Your eternal embrace, and may their families find solace in the hope of Your promise of resurrection.
In this time of grief and sorrow, we ask that You would bring Your light into the darkness. May Your love and compassion be a beacon of hope for all who are suffering.
We pray for the strength and wisdom of the first responders, medical personnel, and all those working to bring relief and restoration. May Your hand guide them and keep them safe.
We ask all these things in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who suffered and died for us, and who rose again to give us eternal life. Amen.
