While researching causes of sewer smells in bathrooms, and learning for the first time about P-traps and U-shaped pipes, I began thinking about what else I have never learned during the past 49 years.
There is so much to learn in the Bible; so much to help guide our day-to-day lives. For many of us—me included—hectic lives, addictive screens, and other mentally and physically harmful distractions divert attention away from God and the Bible. The content of the Bible can sometimes be overwhelming and complicated, but if you give yourself the same amount of time that you give to the things that distract you from God, you will find and understand what you need, exactly when you need it the most. It may also help to be open to seeking out those who have allotted time in their lives to help others become closer to God.
By the way, I may have pinpointed the cause of the sewer smell in my bathroom; a fix has been applied and now I wait to see if the foul odor subsides. I will now take the appropriate time to open my Bible and learn what fixes can be applied to my life.
